FSG Technologies is pioneering flash steam generation (FSG), the oil and gas industry’s most promising replacement solution for steam generation-based production methods. Our solution will lower costs, boost efficiency and reduce the environmental impacts of production. As well, our system allows for more nimble, smaller-scale operations, which are more adaptable and sensitive to environmental concerns, site developments and capital cost management.

FSG holds the exclusive license for the commercialization of FSG technology worldwide in the oil and gas sector, with an option to acquire the patent from its parent companies. FSG Technologies has received considerable interest from potential funders. Successful investment will allow FSG Technologies to make this breakthrough technology available to operators as soon as possible.

FSG Technologies will offer a fully scalable range of products for new and existing facilities, from OTSG-replacement units to steampads (distributed autonomous units), blowdown recovery units (BRUs) and cogeneration units (COGEN).

Not being tied to a water treatment plant, FSG units can accommodate any facility size from 2,000 BPD to 30,000 BPD or more, and can be purchased as a staged investment. Added to their lower capital cost, shorter implementation time and potential reusability, FSG technology offers lower risks to operators and is much more accessible to mid-level operators.

These products can improve the performance of existing facilities and help operators meet new environmental targets. They will also make it easy for operators to replace existing assets, expand existing facilities and launch new projects.

Brais Malouin & Associates (BMA) and Ingenica, FSG Technologies’ parent companies, have been jointly granted patents in Canada, the USA and Europe for the flash-generated steam (FSG) method of generating steam from de-oiled or brackish water, and for the FSG method to generate steam from blowdown water. FSG Technologies Inc. has been granted an exclusive license for the commercialization of FSG technology worldwide, with an option to acquire the patents from its parent companies.

BMA is a Montreal-based firm of 20 engineers founded in 1991 and specializing in combustion engineering, steam generation, heat exchangers and CFD-based design of thermodynamic systems.

Incorporated in 2013, FSG Technologies Inc. is a Canadian private company and, since 2014, a fully owned subsidiary of BMA. FSG was initially a 50/50 joint venture between BMA and Ingenica Ingénierie Industrielle, a France-based international engineering company.

Normand Brais
Normand Brais, Vice-President and founder of Brais Malouin & Associates (BMA) and founder of Sanuvox Technologies and Natcom, has 33 years of experience in boilers and combustion. Dr. Brais holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and a doctorate in nuclear energy engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, specialized in combustion and numerical simulation (CFD). Dr. Brais is one of the original inventors of the FSG concept and still serves as a key technical advisor to the engineering team.
Morgane Gouyon-Rety
Morgane Gouyon-Rety, General Manager of FSG Technologies Inc., has been at the helm of the company since December 2014. She has 22 years of experience in engineering, project management, business development and innovation all over the world with such leading companies as SNCF, Systra, Alstom and Parsons. Mrs Gouyon-Rety is a graduate of France’s École Supérieure d’Électricité and holds an MBA in general management.
Olivier Perraud
Olivier Perraud, President and CEO of Ingenica, has 28 years of experience in electronic systems and industrial engineering with such major organizations as Alstom, Alcatel and SPIE. He is a graduate of France’s École Polytechnique and École des Mines de Paris. He invented the revolutionary APS ground-based power supply for tram systems that is now used all over the world, from Dubai to Brasília.
Louis-Michel Malouin
Louis-Michel Malouin, President of Brais Malouin & Associates (BMA), holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, with a specialty in combustion. His professional career began at BMA where he is now President. In 2008, he also launched BMA Tech, a subsidiary specialized in renewable energy. Mr. Malouin currently serves as Technical Director with FSG Technologies.
Guy De Carufel
Guy De Carufel, Director of Operations at Brais Malouin & Associates (BMA), holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, specialized in energy, both from Polytechnique Montréal. He began his career at the Atomic Energy Control Board as a reactor safety specialist, and then moved into telecommunications. He joined BMA in 2004 and became a business partner in 2007.
Hélène Piquet
Hélène Piquet joined Ingenica in 2003 as Deputy Financial Director, and has been Financial Director since 2008. Hélène started her career as auditor for a large accounting firm, followed by 11 years in several financial positions within French branches of international companies, including Selkirk Manufacturing, Eschenbach Optik and Mather & Platt.
